The exhibition of “CODED CULTURES - Exploring Creative Emergences” is presenting international artworks and projects related to the four sub-topics of the festival: Designing Complexity, Assembling Things, Expanding Locality and Creating Proto-Culture.
The presented positions from Japan, Austria and Europe are distinguished by creative practices which explore new forms of media integrated delineation- and knowledge-cultures. By this means they are situated on the intersection of disciplines and have actively integrated different cultural fields in their artistic development.

The exhibition was developed within the course of Dr. Georg Russegger at the department of “Transmedia Arts”. Related to the context of CODED CULTURES and the »Austria-Japan Year 2009« the aim was to explore contents and practices of creative self-design and self-organization, to raise questions about binational cooperations of artists and artistic projects.

ein serielles Buchprojekt, welches von bekannten und unbekannten internationalen Künstlern zu bestimmten themen beiträge sammelt. Gezeigt wird die PUBLIC FOLDER - Gruppenausstellung zum Thema Fussball (Bilder an der Wand und Video) sowie das Buch vorgestellt.

“Raum für Projektion” ist ein DVD Label und temporärer Abspielort für Videoprojekte. Es wird eine Auswahl aus dem DVD Projekt “loop pool 05” gezeigt für das internationale Künstler, Filmemacher und VJs jeweils einen Videoloop produzierten. “loop pool” ist ein Projekt von Graw Böckler Heydebreck in Zusammenarbeit mit den Internationalen Kurzfilmtagen Oberhausen. POPNONAME releast auf den labels FIRM, ITALIC und KOMPAKT, schreibt theatermusik für diverse deutsche bühnen, filmmusik, popmusik und techno – aktuell gerade der remix für alessandro crimi (italic 58) und ein remix (mit john harten) für modernist auf der SPEX 72 ep. gerade in arbeit ist eine neue mini-lp für Firm.
