reconstructing life VI - Vernissage 8.6.2006 - June 8th, 2006
Karl Kilian zeigt in dieser Installation Found Footage bestehend aus 3000 Dias und einigen Super 8-Filmen die er im Jahr 2001 in Berlin erworben hat und mit denen er das Projekt reconstructing life I realisierte. Dabei folgte Kilian den aus dem Material sich ergebenden Spuren und Hinweisen und rekonstruierte durch Archivrecherche, Interviews usw. das Leben der Protagonisten der Fotos und Filme. Kilian orientierte sich dabei an der Idee der Mentalitätsgeschichte von Patrick H. Hutton

Map of Meanings deals with the meanings and practices of everyday life, in other words with the way daily activities and rituals, for example TV watching, cooking and eating, greeting or celebrating are dealt with in different cultures.

Free vocalization and real-time signal processing by using self-made computer interface “infra-red shirt.” It connects body and digital medium, music and dance, improvisation and composition.

Ishida Takashi takes frame-by-frame photographs of his own paintings and creates complex abstract films from them. Gestalt was created by repainting the actual walls of a room, and clearly shows the artistfs unique approach toward space.
Tomomi ADACHI’s short solo performance
Free vocalization and real-time signal processing by using self-made computer interface “infra-red shirt.” It connects body and digital medium, music and dance, improvisation and composition.
The project MAP OF MEANINGS provides six Japanese artists from various artistic genres including film, photography, video, fine arts, music and performance art with an opportunity to conduct intercultural studies in Vienna as part of an artist-in-residence project. The artistic results presented reflect the project participants` confrontation with the meanings and practices of everyday life in Vienna as well as their experience with the local art scene interpreted against their individual backgrounds. This exhibition is produced by kuspace association as a contribution to the Japan-Year held across the European Union in 2005. (kuspace.org)
